Barnardos advances the welfare of children and their families in Ireland in two ways. Firstly, by providing a range of effective services to children and families and secondly, by campaigning for the improvement of children’s welfare and influencing the development of child care policy and provision. At the core of Barnardos work is the belief that every child has the right to reach his or her potential and that their family is crucial to their development. Through fundraising and Barnardos’ charity shops we raise money to support our services for children and families. Barnardos’ services are delivered from our National Office at Christchurch in Dublin and through a network of local projects located throughout Ireland. Barnardos has a range of policies and procedures, which guide our work with children and families. These policies are reviewed on a regular basis and new policies and procedures are developed in line with best practice. Barnardos has policies and procedures on issues such as staff recruitment, health and safety, financial management and so forth.
