Abstract
This guide aims to provide parents with information on child protection and welfare. The information given is based on Children First: National Guidelines for the Protection and Welfare of Children, which was first produced by the Department of Health and Children in 1999. In 2010, the Office of the Minister for Children and Youth Affairs (OMCYA) published a revised version of Children First online. The revised Children First has been updated and amended to reflect changes in legislation, organisational changes etc.
