Abstract

The scale of child prostitution, child trafficking and grooming has increased considerably due to the development of new technologies such as the internet and mobile phones. The new technologies give people who are sexually interested in children a new medium to network, share information and fantasies and explore new identities. Use of the internet has both national and international implications, which makes the monitoring and policing of exploitative practices all the more difficult.
