Abstract
There have been several interesting developments in relation
to the National Children's Resource Centre since the first
issue Of Childlinks. The first anniversary of the Centre was
celebrated with the publication of the “Child and Family
Directory'. Computerisation of the Information and Library
Service is contributing enormously to the efficiency with
which queries can be answered and literature searches
completed. Work has begun in association with the
Department of Health on a project entitled 'A Study of
Parenting Programmes in Ireland' which is due to be
completed in August 1994. The piloting phase of a
evaluation system for nurseries and creches is well underway.
The Centre is also represented on the steering committee of
a new group entitled "The Children's Rights Alliance -
Republic of Ireland' which is working to establish a
Children's Rights Unit to promote awareness of the UN
Convention on Children's Rights.
