Over the past number of years there has been an increasing emphasis on support for parents and the importance of parenting. Recognition of the power and impact of accessible up-to-date and timely information has led to increasing demands on information providers. In child care the introduction of the Child Care Act 1991 and other important legislation has resulted in increasing demand for knowledge and skills. Professionals need information to ‘do the right thing’ and ‘to do it right’.
