    Early Years eNews: Issue 10

    This has been a difficult year for everyone, particularly those working in early learning and care. We have been so inspired by the stories of dedication and adaptability of early childhood educators to provide quality care and education for young children, and the news that came in just today that Minister O'Gorman is starting the process to discuss pay and conditions in the early years sector is very much welcomed.

    Early Years eNews: Issue 9

    This issue of Early years eNews is the first since the announcement of Budget 2021. Although this Budget saw some welcome investment in protecting the most vulnerable children and families, it is disheartening to note the lack of additional investment in early learning and care or school age childcare, particularly in light of the fact that the sector was deemed important enough to be one of the first to reopen its doors post initial Covid-19 restrictions. While there has been progress in improving the quality of early years education in recent years, there is still more to achieve, and both the pay and conditions of early years educators and the cost for parents remain significant.

    Early Years eNews: Issue 6

    This has been a significant week for the early learning and care sector as many services reopened after Covid19 closures, with more planning to reopen in the coming weeks. This has been possible through the dedication and hard work of providers and educators across the country preparing their premises for new ways of working. It has been heart-warming to hear of children's happy reactions to being reunited with their educators and friends again, and we wish you all the best of luck going forward.
